Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages are useful. It records pages viewed, approximate location, and device type. It is never given your name or email address.
Advertising
This site also runs a Pinterest conversion tag. Pinterest uses it to measure whether people who saw a Pin later visited this site, which is how the advertising is paid for. It is an advertising tool: it sets its own cookies and it does involve tracking across sites, unlike the analytics above. It is not given your name or your email address.
Newsletter
If you join the newsletter, your email address and your choice of list are stored by the email provider so the newsletter can be sent to you. It is not sold, rented, or shared. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address.
Contact form
Anything you send through the contact form is delivered to the author's inbox and used only to reply to you.
Links to retailers
Buy links point to Amazon. Once you follow one, Amazon's own privacy policy applies to what happens there.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser (named _ga and similar) so that repeat visits are not counted as new people. The Pinterest tag sets its own advertising cookies and can associate your visit with a Pin you saw on Pinterest. This is cross-site tracking, and if you would rather not be included, a tracker blocker or Pinterest's own ad-personalization settings will stop it. Blocking cookies for this domain will not stop any part of the site working.
