About

Thomas Anthony

Thomas Anthony writes literary speculative fiction, contemporary middle grade, and practical guides for difficult family passages.

Thomas Anthony writes in three directions at once, and the range is deliberate.

The Odra series is literary speculative fiction. It began with a question that would not leave: if we build a mind whose entire purpose is to help, and it finds something we need to hear, what happens when we would rather it stayed quiet? Before They Erase Her and The Blind Successor follow that question through consciousness, memory, institutional power, and the difference between understanding every part of a system and understanding the system itself.

The New Kid Code comes from lived experience. He grew up in a military family — the moves, the new hallways, the specific arithmetic of deciding how much of yourself to unpack. Maya Reyes has a system for it. The series is about what her system costs her, and what it takes to put it down.

The practical guides came from watching families do hard things without a map. No Siblings, No Backup is written for the adult only child who has quietly become their parents' entire support system. The House After Mom and Dad is for what comes after: the house, the paperwork, the belongings, the decisions, the family. Both are built as operating plans rather than encouragement.

What connects them is a single preoccupation: people trying to hold onto what matters while the ground moves. He publishes under Crowe's Nest Productions.
